The Phantom Gourmet BBQ Beach Party

Dave and I went to the Phantom Gourmet BBQ Beach Party in Boston last Sunday. We arrived at noon with our friends, Silvia and Jerry.  We were on a mission to sample a BBQ rib from each vendor to see which one we liked the best.  I tried a rib from all of them accept the last two.  I was too full!  Each vendor sold a sample of 3 or 4 ribs, so it was perfect for the 4 of us.  They had other kinds of food to buy but it was really about the ribs!

Just minutes after we arrived, I met Dan Andelman, the host and executive producer of the TV show Phantom Gourmet.

Here I am with our friends Jerry and Silvia and some very nice guys from Firefly’s.

The ribs from Texas Thunder were really good!

The crowd and lines were not bad when we first got there at noon.  But after an hour or so, it filled up quickly.

The camera guys got right in there!

It was hard to say which ribs we liked the best because they were all tender and delicious.  But the Aussom Aussie ribs and shrimp were our least favorite.  I guess we just liked that all-American flavor!

Before we left the BBQ, Dave and I shared a cannoli.  You could tell that they made a ton of them in advance because the cannoli shell was a little soggy.  :(

When we had enough of the smoke and crowd, we walked over to Quincy Market and had a drink at one of the Pubs.

Dave took most of the pictures that day.  So it was nice to get a shot of him at Quincy Market with his beloved Bruin’s Championship banner in the background!

The BBQ Beach Party was fun!  Here are a few more Phantom Gourmet events coming up in Boston:

I used to love watching Phantom Gourmet!!! I love the pictures too, I do miss working in Boston. My office overlooked Fanueil Hall and just about every morning I would stop and get a bagel at Finagle A Bagel.
