Cookbook Author -  Marsha Baker

THIS GIVEAWAY IS OVER!

Several months ago, I had the pleasure of becoming blogging buddies with Marsha Baker!    We have so much in common.  We both love to bake, we both wrote our own cookbook, and we both enjoy talking to other foodies online.

When Marsha’s cookbook Recipes & Recollections from the Better Baker was published by Morris Press, I was so happy for her!  I totally understood her excitement and could appreciate all the love and time that went into it!  So it’s only fitting that I do a review/giveaway of her new book!

Marsha’s cookbook has 300 family-friendly recipes and includes her favorite personal and family childhood recollections.  Her heartwarming memories of her family make you wish you could pull up a chair in Marsha’s kitchen and enjoy her food and company!

The recipes in this book are quick and easy!  It also has some handy “cooking tip” pages in the back of the book.  This would be a great Christmas gift for the foodie in your family!

Marsha’s  cookbook is available HERE!

I want to show you a few recipes from her cookbook that I made.

I had plenty of ground beef at home, so I decided to test Marsha’s recipe for Burger Stroganoff.  It was great comfort food on a cool night!  My husband and I really enjoyed it!

Another recipe that I tried was BBQ Cups.  These were yummy and could be made as an appetizer or main dish!  It has such easy ingredients: ground beef, ketchup, brown sugar, cider vinegar, cheddar cheese, and buttermilk biscuits.

Marsha Baker has generously offered to give away one of her cookbooks to you!

Sour Cream Pound Cake reminds me of standing in a kitchen chair at my grandmother’s learning to bake and cook with her. Those are my fondest childhood baking memories.

For me fried potatoes always bring back childhood memories since my Mom always made them for me when I was sick.

I have two items. One is a breakfast brunch item of Spinach leek quiche and the other is a dessert item lemon squares.
My mother started making the quiche because I hated eggs and she wanted a way of getting me to eat them. This was her answer and well they all say I make both items so well.

Making BBQ shredded beef brings back childhood memories. I use my mom’s recipe, but use my crockpot instead of the oven. I always loved it as a kid. It still is delicious!

Mine would have to be Shepherds Pie. It was a dish my mom made for us growing up, that I’ve carried over to my kids. They love it just like we always did! :)

The recipie I remember from my childhood is fig cake. It was a lot like Christmas fruit cake, but with a lot of figs in it and very moist.
