The Book of Steak

from Parragon

The Book of Steak is from Parragon’s Love Food Line.

I’m a carnivore.  I love a perfectly cooked steak.  The trouble is…I’m not very good at cooking it.  So when I had the chance to review this book, my eyes lit up!

I love the style of this book!  This page, for instance, looks like the recipe is typed on an old country cloth.  Other pages have other interesting backgrounds as well.

Every recipe has a mouthwatering photo like this Prime Rib!

(I am so making this, next time I have a dinner party!)

The great thing about having gas in my new kitchen means I get to make a lot of these recipes year round using a grill pan.  But since the weather is so hot right now, I made my first recipe from this book outdoors, on the grill.  I tried the Flank Steak in “the best” barbecue marinade on page 64.  It was fantastic!  The marinade is awesome!  Check out my photos!

The marinade was so yummy, I generously spooned it all over the meat!  Are you drooling yet?

The recipe is above!  Be sure to give it a try!

In case you’re not familiar with the different cuts of beef, there is a great diagram in the book.  There are explanations and photos to show what extra rare, rare, medium rare, medium, and well done looks like.  And as you can see from the recipe above, the directions are very easy.

This is how the chapters are divided:

Chapter One…..Up Front Cuts

Chapter Two…..Rear Cuts

Chapter Three…Steak For Two

Chapter Four….Sauces and Sides

This cookbook gets two thumbs up from me and my family!  :)

It is available at Amazon.com.

Your steak looks delicious Jane. I agree there is nothing like a perfectly marinated and cooked steak. Sounds like a great cookbook!
