I have a great Christmas cookie recipe to share with you! I got it from the Williams-Sonoma recipe widget that I used to have on my side bar. They’re really addicting! These cookies remind me of the Danish cookies you buy in a Christmas tin around the holidays!

I bought a Wilton Cookie Press from Walmart this weekend for only $10 and was pleasantly surprised at the variety of cookie plates that were included.

Here are some of the cookie plates. They’re made of plastic but they’re very sturdy.

All you need to do is combine the butter, sugar, egg, salt, and vanilla. Add the flour and mix.

Fill the cookie press, choose a cookie plate, and secure in place.

Press down on the cookie sheet, squeeze the trigger once, and lift carefully.

Decorate with sprinkles if desired. Bake at 375°F for about 8 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

Cool completely and share the yummy goodness!
- 16 Tbs. (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2½ tsp. vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2½ cups sifted all-purpose flour
- Colored sugars or icings for decorating
- Preheat an oven to 375°F.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine the butter and sugar. Beat on high speed until light and fluffy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. Add the egg, vanilla and salt and continue beating until well mixed. Using a spoon, stir in the flour until blended.
- Pack the cookie dough into a cookie press according to the manufacturer's instructions. Fit with the desired-shaped cookie plate and press the dough out onto ungreased baking sheets or sheets lined with Silpat nonstick liners, spacing the cookies 1 inch apart.
- Bake until the cookies are light golden, about 10 minutes. Transfer the cookies to wire racks and let cool. Decorate with colored sugars or icings as desired. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. Makes 40 to 60 cookies.

These are always so pretty and tasty. I’ve never made them. lol Susie
Thanks for sharing Jane - they are gorgeous and I can just taste them as they look so yummy. Great post! I admire anyone who takes the time to make these….I love eating them, but don’t like to fuss with any ‘gadgets’ to make them. You make it look so easy! *-*
As much as my family loves spritz or pressed cookies, you’d think I’d make them more often, but these are one of the few cookies that are strictly Christmas cookies. Yours all look so cute and yummy.
So adorable, my children will really love this!
