How was your weekend? It was pretty quiet for us. On Sunday, we spent a little time at my brother-in-law’s house on the lake. I thought I’d share this picture of my son Andrew and my niece Jordyn. Jordyn just got a new fishing pole. It was so cute the way she pulled up her chair next to Andrew!
I love that we always have a nice long weekend after the first week of school. It’s a great way to ease me back into work. Have I told you how much I enjoy my summer off? 🙂 Last week was really hard teaching with the temperature around 96 degrees and no air conditioning! This week looks so much better.
Have a great week!

NO air? Good grief! Teaching the first week is hard enough without that added condition. I taught for 18 years, high school English. One year, during construction, it actually snowed in my classroom! I also have no windows in my classroom, so we were at the mercy of the cooling/heating system. Not always the best situation! Oh the good old days! 😉
Here is to hoping your classroom is cooler this week, and your students are ready to learn. It’s also a short week, and that always makes time so quickly!
Good luck!

Hi Lana,
I would rather be hot than have snow in my classroom! Oh my goodness! 🙂 Being cold is worst for me! My students didn’t have much energy by the third day of the heat wave last week. They were like wilted flowers. We just did the best we could. Thank God, it is only temporary!

What a darling picture! Thanks for sharing - so glad to know you enjoyed some relaxing time over the long weekend. And isn’t it nice to think about only FOUR days of school this week? Hope it’s cooled down some there, as it has here in Ohio. Blessings on your week!!

A four day week is pretty nice, Marsha! 🙂

We had a grand time, loads of people and WAY too much food!! And tons of Gulf fresh seafood too - fish, shrimp and crabs. So good. I just love that picture Jane!!
Back when I was in school we didn’t have air conditioning - talk about miserable in this south Mississippi heat!! I think that’s why school didn’t start until after Labor Day back in the day!
Hope y’all have a wonderful week!!

I’m glad you’re still able to get fresh seafood from the Gulf, Mary!
I cannot imagine school in Mississippi without air conditioning!

What a nice picture Jane! Andrew is so handsome. Is he still playing the drums? We went for a family bike ride on Monday. The weather was beautiful! I hope you are having a cool week at school!
