The No-Cook, No-Bake Cookbook
101 Delicious Recipes for When It’s Too Hot To Cook
With this 90° weather, you don’t have to ask me twice to review a cookbook like this! Good grief! As much as I like to cook, I avoid heating up my kitchen during these dog days of summer.
The best way to describe the recipes in this cookbook is fresh and figure-friendly! If you have a vegetable garden, you would have a field day with this book. Healthy whole foods are used throughout the book. With fruits and vegetables at their peak right now, it is the perfect time to make these recipes.
Kadey’s new cookbook is divided into 4 yummy chapters - Breakfast and Brunch, Starters and Sides, Main Dishes, and Desserts.
I’ve been looking for a new way to make a tossed salad, so I made his Summer Berry Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing!
This salad did not disappoint! I love the added crunch of the granola and walnuts! The dressing is made with fresh orange juice, balsamic vinegar, honey, poppy seeds, black pepper and olive oil. Talk about fresh tasting! I think my heart is still thanking me for putting such good food in my body!
Some recipes that I’m looking forward to making are:
- Pineapple Blueberry Smoothie
- Very Berry Parfait Pudding
- Kale Slaw with Hazelnut Dressing
- Very Berry Trifle
- Lemon Cheesecake with Cherry Sauce
- Mango Fool
- Watermelon Slushies
I give this book 2 thumbs up! I’m actually hoping to try some recipes in this book that are not usually on my radar. I’ll be doing some recipe-testing with this book this summer, for sure! You can’t argue with fresh, wholesome ingredients and a cooler kitchen in the summer!
