I’m a big fan of Abby Dodge and her cookbooks! I have 2 of her other cookbooks Desserts 4 Today and The Weekend Baker. They’re both excellent!
I’ve been reading through this cookbook and it looks like another winner! The recipes are easy to follow and the photos are absolutely gorgeous! I’m happy to show you some videos of the author and some recipes from her book. I’m planning on making the two recipes (in the videos below) for Christmas!
Check out how Abby Dodge makes her Mini Red Velvet Whoopie Pies, which is on the front cover of her cookbook!
This Pumpkin Tarts with Pecan Steusel recipe is also from her new cookbook!
I made Abby’s Milk Chocolate-Almond Biscotti on page 14.
The recipe is super easy and they came out crisp and yummy!
I shaped the dough into a 10″ x 2½” log and baked it at 325°F for 30-32 minutes.
After it cooled a bit, I cut it on the diagonal into ½” slices.
I placed them on the cookie sheet, cut-side down, and baked them again for 10-15 minutes.
There is a milk chocolate drizzle to go on top, but this was enough chocolate for us.
I also made the Rocky Road Fudge on page 208. I brought them to work and shared them with all of the teachers and staff. They loved it!
This fudge is creamy, decadent, and delicious! I will be making this again for Christmas gifts!
