Back to school is right around the corner which means we’re back on a schedule and a daily routine. I like the kids’ mornings to be relaxing, calm and not stressful so we always prep the night before.  A few tips we do are:

  • pick out your outfit; that means trying it on too!
  • choose what you’re having for breakfast
  • pack your bookbag and have all papers signed
  • have water bottle on the counter ready to be filled
  • line bookbags up in the kitchen so you can grab and go

These steps only take a few minutes and they make the next morning a great time to sit on the couch, talk, and enjoy breakfast.

Jimmy Dean & State Fair (4)One of their favorites is Jimmy Dean® Sausage, Egg & Cheese Croissants.  They’re available at Walmart at an Every Day Low Price and you can find them in the freezer aisle.  I pick up a box, toss them in my freezer and when we need them I just open one, heat it up and in a few minutes they’re done!

Now I know they have a long day at school so it’s only natural that they’re starving when they get home.  On Fridays I allow them to eat whatever they like because it’s been a long week; we like dinner to be more casual and easy.  Their first choice is State Fair® Corn Dogs; these too can be found at Walmart for an everyday low price.  You can find them in the freezer chests in the center of the aisles.

I love that both the Jimmy Dean® 22 pack Corn Dogs and the State Fair® 8 count Sausage, Egg & Cheese Croissants are individually wrapped.  We can grab as many as we want and have the rest for another day.  Once you unwrap them they are easily heated up in the microwave which is so convenient!  Less time in the kitchen means I get to spend more time with the kids.

One last quick tip:  serve on plates that you can throw away or recycle so it makes clean-up easy too!
