Dave, Andrew, and I got in the car early Saturday morning and drove 4 hours to NY to see my son, Matthew, at his University for their annual Family Weekend.  We don’t get a chance to see him very often,  so we always look forward to this!  It’s hard to believe this is Matthew’s senior year and our last Family Weekend at Hofstra University!  This weekend was extra special at Hofstra as they are celebrating their 75th Anniversary.  We spent the afternoon enjoying an outdoor concert on campus.  They had a band representing each decade.

We saw a performance by the original members of Sha Na Na, featuring a Hofstra Professor (in the blue shirt) that was actually an original member of the band!

We also saw Blue Oyster Cult!  They sounded great!

Here’s a video of Blue Oyster Cult singing their popular hit - Don’t Fear the Reaper. What a classic!

My boys enjoyed Public Enemy.  Am I the only person that didn’t know that Flava Flav (dressed in red) is in Public Enemy? His clock necklace cracks me up!  Did you ever see him on MTV?

On Saturday evening, we had comedy tickets to see Jimmy Fallon on campus.  He was funny and so down to earth!  His show was a lot of fun!  Here’s a few students interviewing Jimmy before his show.

At the end of his performance, Jimmy Fallon told the audience that he was headed back to NYC to be in the opening monolog on Saturday Night Live.  It was fun watching him on TV in our hotel room.

On Sunday we had a quick breakfast with Matthew before he went to work and then we headed home.  It took 7 hours with all the traffic and a quick stop to eat!

Needless to say, we are all exhausted, but we thoroughly enjoyed a great family weekend together!
