With a family of six, four being boys, we eat a lot of bacon! I no sooner get in the door from grocery shopping and they are digging through the bags to see if I bought more. Being that we do eat a good amount, I like to make sure I buy a high-quality brand. Our favorite is Wright® Brand Bacon because we like to eat Bacon The Wright Way™.
I pick mine up at my local Giant Eagle where it’s located in the bacon/breakfast sausage refrigerator case. They carry Hickory Smoked, Applewood Smoked, Smoked Brown Sugar, Bourbon Barrel Smoked, and Oak Barrel Smoked. I love that it comes in so many varieties, it’s thick sliced, hand-trimmed, and it’s made with the best cuts of premium meat. I always look at the package to make sure it has a good fat/meat ratio and the color is good too. I don’t want fatty, greasy bacon that’s going to shrivel up to nothing when I cook it!
While the bacon is cooking, I whip up a batch of homemade buttermilk biscuits and place them in the oven. I then fry a few eggs. Once everything is done, I place it on the table and we all get to assemble our sandwiches to our liking. Slice open a warm buttermilk biscuit, slather on a little butter, add a few slices of bacon, a fried egg and cheese. My husband and I like to add on a little bit of lettuce and tomato too! I have to make sure the kids don’t eat all the bacon before we make the sandwiches because once Wright Brand Bacon hits the table, it’s like a magnet…everyone comes running! These sandwiches are a quick, easy and delicious breakfast that the whole family enjoys!
