Yesterday was our last day of school! It feels so good to have no set schedule for the next 2 1/2 months! Besides spending time with my family at the beach, or taking little day trips here or there, I thought I’d share what I love about summer.
I love…..
1. getting up at 7:00 a.m. instead of 5:30 a.m.
2. watching a few cooking shows that I’ve DVR’d while drinking my morning coffee
3. taking my time to grocery shop instead of zipping through the store like a mad woman
4. no sports schedules!!
5. laying in the sun
6. watering my flowers on a hot sunny day
7. barbecuing for dinner and having less dishes to wash
8. organizing my drawers, closets, cabinets, paperwork, etc.
9. going to the beach with a friend and browsing in the cute shops
10. eating seafood at the beach
11. eating ice cream sundaes at Kimball Farm
12. did I mention no schedules???
Places that I would like to go to with Dave:
1. I’ve never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast before. I would love to stay in a B & B near Perkins Cove in Ogunquit, Maine. I love the carefree atmosphere at the beach!
2. take a walk on the Marginal Way at Perkins Cove and have a delicious seafood dinner overlooking the ocean (We did this for our Anniversay last summer and had the best time!)
3. go to The North End in Boston and have a cannoli at Mike’s Pastry, sample some cheese at an Italian cheese shop, and enjoy a great Italian dinner at one of the many great restaurants
This is a picture of Perkins Cove with the foggy ocean in the background. Have you ever been there?
What do you love about summer?

I love most of your items, but the biggest thing I love is having my babies home everyday!
Hi Kel,
I always felt very fortunate to be home in the summer with my boys. We always did lots of fun things together. But my youngest is 16 years old now and starting his first job this summer. I'm thrilled that he's going to make some of his own money and save up for a car.
I love being able to sleep in too! I also like all the food strawberries and pretty soon the corn and tomatoes will come on.

Lovely thoughts and picture! My hubby and I have traveled all over the country - he's retired from the Air Force, but neither of us have ever been to the New England states - but we hope to make it one day. The picture is gorgeous and I love the water, so all your fun ideas sound awesome….enjoy every day of summer. It zips right past us so quickly! We don't have children at home any more, but my hubby does get up early to take the granddaughters to school, so we do enjoy sleeping in without an alarm during the summer months. Keep up the good work!
Warm air and sunshine - that is what I love about summer ;)
