Sit back and get to know Sherri!
In the next video, Sherri demonstrates the Boiling Water Method. I used this method to make her Classic Strawberry Jam (shown below).
I love how Sherri’s cookbook is organized. For instance, if you’re into strawberries like me, you’ll find the following recipes in the “Strawberries” section:
Individually Frozen Strawberries
Back-Burner Strawberry Sauce
Quick Strawberry Jam
Classic Strawberry Jam
Strawberry Vinegar
Strawberry Vodka
If you’re into Tomatoes, you could make:
Frozen Tomato Puree
Easy-Bake Tomato Paste
Roasted Tomato Sauce
Heirloom Tomato Salsa
My-Way Marinara
Canned Whole Tomatoes
Spicy Tomato Aspic
Frozen Whole Tomatoes
Oven Dried Tomatoes
By the way, if you’re looking for some nice printable canning labels online, I got these HERE. All you need to do is download the labels and print them out on #8165 Avery 8 1/2″ x 11″ white shipping labels and cut out the labels. You can also buy canning labels at Walmart or where ever canning supplies are sold. (I just couldn’t find any at the time that I made my jam.)

Well, the previous two summers we lived on a small farm and had a great garden. We canned a ton of stuff from peaches, pears and raspberries to pickles, beans, tomatoes and salsa.

I have done all kinds of canning. When I was little I even helped my mother and grandmother can. It was years before I could stand the smell of fresh green beens, because I helped cut so many of them up.

So, I would like to learn how to do tomato sauce, pickles, and jams. Anything to keep all the fresh yummy fruit all year long! Staciele(at)netins(dot)net

Just found out about this giveaway because I "Liked" Storey Publishing on FB. This book had been on my wish list and I would love to get it! I've canned peach jam, sour pickles, bread'n'butter pickles, plum jam, pepper jelly and hot sauce this summer, but I need to learn how to can my veg from the garden. Plus I know nothing about freezing and drying. Great giveaway!
So far, I've made plum jelly and peach jam. I tried to make pickles and, well…no…I'm hoping to put away some corn in the freezer before too much longer.

This sounds like a great book for new canning ideas. I love to can and have canned so many things, tomatoes, green beans, pickled beets, polish garlic dill pickles, dilly beans, pickled bamboo, icicle pickles, freezer pickles, many kinds of jams and jellies such as strawberry, brambleberry, blueberry grape, and even kudzu and much more.

I suppose I'm most interested in pickling and making relishes. I'd like to pickle okra and make some Amish-style corn relish. I'd also like to can berries of all sorts since their harvest season is so short, and their nutritional value is so high. la@ecogoat.info

We did freezer strawberry and blueberry jam last year. The strawberry worked perfectly but the blueberry was too runny so we used it as ice cream sauce or stirred it into yogurt and smoothies. I also do applesauce. It’s not technically canning but more freezing. Still wonderful all year round. I would love to can salsa since I’m a Texas transplant to the north and miss that great taste.
I haven’t done any canning, but have always wanted to. Mom canned tomatoes, tomato juice, pickles and many jams. Mmmmmm, so good! I would love to get tbis book!!
