The baking season is among us and December 4th is National Cookie Day, so what better way to celebrate then with Krusteaz cookie mixes. I know myself I do a lot of baking and I love using a good quality mix to help me out. It takes a lot of time off my hands without sacrificing the taste. Plus they’re so simple to make so I can give the kids a box, and they can bake up a batch of cookies by themselves.
Krusteaz was kind enough to send me this wonderful gift package that included a tote bag, cookie cutters, frosting decorating pen and food markers that are safe to use on the cookies! They also included two boxes of the following mixes: Shortbread, Snickerdoodle, Butter Vanilla Sugar and Triple Chocolate Chunk. It’s the perfect way to start the holiday season, and guess what? I get to give one of you the exact same package so you’ll be all set to start your holiday baking…enter below!
My daughter and I immediately made the Butter Vanilla Sugar Cookies and followed the directions for roll-out cookies. The mix came together perfectly, rolled out nicely and was a breeze to cut the cookies out of. We used all the mini cookie cutters so we had a variety of shapes.
They only took a few minutes to bake and cool off, and we couldn’t wait to decorate! We made some icing and then colored it in a few different shades, grabbed the decorating pens, the icing pen and got to work. The other kids decided to join in and we all had a wonderful time decorating Christmas cookies so early.
We had so much fun, and enjoyed eating them too! They’re crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside and the flavor is delicious. Sugar cookies are one of my favorites especially when there’s icing on top.
