Did you have a nice weekend?
I spent the last two days watching my new cabinets go up in my kitchen!
The guys worked so hard!
The sun was shining on the cabinets, so the pictures didn’t come out too good.
When my new range comes in, they’ll make a template for the granite counter top.
New countertop vs. old, ugly, gray counter top!
I need help. Do you have any advice on window treatments?

It is exciting! I’m happy for you MJ! I would love to see pics of your kitchen remodel.
Wow, how nice it must feel to have a new kitchen! That’s so awesome! It’s gorgeous. About window treatments, for our kitchen when we first moved in, I just went to the curtain section of every store to see what was available. I also looked online, and looked at a lot of pictures. We ended up getting a pretty half curtain with a valance on top of it in our colors. Good Luck!
Today I’ve linked up my Plum Tart. It is the NY times most requested and most printed recipe of all time! (cause it’s so good.)

Hi Jane!
I added my baked bean recipe. It’s very easy and I’ve probably made this recipe three times within the last month for cookouts. I love your cabinets! They look great and the counter top is gorgeous! On the window treatment, you want about a 12″ long custom made valance that is permanently attached to a board. Just my opinion. :) It will be interesting to see what your other readers suggest! Enjoy your kitchen! Thanks for the linky!
Yum! I love baked beans! Thanks for your advice! :)
Yeah!!! A new kitchen! How fun! I love the new cabinets, that will look great with the granite! Thanks for hosting. Good luck this week with the remodel!
Thanks Tanya! :)
Thank you for hosting. We recently remodeled our kitchen and our cabinets and countertops look very similar to your new ones :) We went with mini blind for the window - because I wasn’t really sure what to do either.
That’s cool that they’re similar! I guess I need to wait until the kitchen is done so I get a better feel of what to do about curtains or blinds.
Oooooh, the cabinets look LOVELY! You must be so excited :)
Thanks Robin! :)
Jane - your new cupboards are just gorgeous! How exciting!! I would suggest a valance for the top of your window. If you have a curtain across the bottom, they may get splattered and I like being able to look out. Just keep looking - even the Dollar Stores have some lovely window treatments. You’ll know when you find the one ‘just right’ for you. Thanks for hosting this week’s party.
Thanks Marsha! I never liked curtains on the bottom either. I want as much light as possible.
You’re cabinets look fantastic and I love the granite your chose! Thanks for hosting and have a great week!
Thank you Joan! :)

Hi Jane,
Thanks so much for hosting today! Today I am sharing my favorite kitchen tip and 2 of my favorite recipes: Bacon, Corn and Potato Chowder and Zucchini Carbonara. Have a great week :) ~ Halle
Umm! Looks delicious, Halle! :)
I was able to score a set of those cool cellular shades from Bed, Bath and Beyond for $10 on clearance. Those things are super nice (mine’s white, but they have a lot of colors) and if you can find them on sale, they can be frugal, too!
Thanks for the tip, Kristi! :)
Congratulations on your new kitchen!! You are going to absolutely love it ☺ I don’t really have any recommendations for window coverings as I like my kitchen window left bare. Hope you find something you like.
Thanks Mary! :)
Thanks so much for hosting Melt in your Mouth Monday! I tried to click on your G+ button to follow you, but it didn’t work. I’ll try again soon. Blessings, Nici
Just fixed it, Nici. I will stop by!
Yea for new kitchens!!! Hunter Douglas makes a really cool shade that you can raise up and down and it is cordless! Home Depot and Lowes have similar ones for super cheap, but the quality isn’t as good. They are perfect if you want lots of light and don’t want to mess with getting curtains dirty in the kitchen!
Thanks for the tip! I appreciate it! :)
Your new kitchen and MY new kitchen are twins! Really. We just got the cupboards in and the new countertop is almost identical to the sample you show in the picture. Ours is in (a little bit more black in ours) and I LOVE it! I’ve been so busy with the renovations that I haven’t had time to BLOG them yet but there will be some photos soon. Anyhow, you’ve chosen a winner! :)
That is so cool that our kitchens will be alike! I would love to see pictures of your kitchen!
How exciting — a new kitchen for you! Great blog hop! I am going to post my Roasted Vegetable and Parmesan Pasta.
Thanks Bree! Love your recipe! :)

Wow, those cabinets are beautiful! You must be so excited - I remember when we redid our kitchen before selling our home and I just couldn’t wait to get into the kitchen and start using the cabinets and new counters… Thanks so much for hosting - there’s so much delicious food for me to check out - and I’ve shared a recipe for Parsnip and Bacon Soup…
NICE! Personally, I love naked windows in the kitchen so I say leave them alone (especially the one over the sink!) You have got to be excited for the finished product to be done!!!

Thanks for hosting! I shared my Homemade Garden Burgers at #126.
Wow! It’s been a long time since I’ve felt like I had anything worthwhile to share on a link up … in fact, I think the last time I shared a recipe was a couple of years ago back when I still had MuffinFixation up and running. My son & I have recently gone back to being gluten free, though, which means I get creative with the food again and this week made up a batch of savory tomato pancakes. They would be easily be freezable for later use if he and I hadn’t devoured them as quickly as we had :) It’s good to be back … can’t wait to catch up on what everyone’s been up to!
