Scones are one of my favorites!  I enjoy drinking tea or coffee, and I love having a pastry to go along with it.  It makes the perfect breakfast, snack, or dessert.  Today I made Bacon & Maple Scones which have a dash of sweetness along with a little bit of savory.  The flavors blend together perfectly, and are not overwhelming at all.  I based this recipe off of King Arthur Flour, however I didn’t want to buy maple flavoring so I decided to try maple syrup.  I also didn’t chill my dough because I started out with frozen butter and felt there wasn’t a need for the extra step.  I’m happy to say they turned out quite scrumptious!  I had a hard time allowing them to cool because we kept eating them so fast.  Bacon & Maple Scones are the perfect addition to your next breakfast, brunch or afternoon tea…enjoy!
