My poor slow cooker has not seen the light of day in a while! I have really neglected it this winter! It’s not because I don’t like using it, I’ve just been busy testing out other kinds of recipes and I actually don’t have a ton of tried and true slow cooker recipes. I have a few family-approved ones that I tend to stick to. Do you have some recipes you could share? Use my Linky below to add your favorites!
But first, check out this Barbecue Rib video from Robin Miller. It sure looks yummy!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my slow cooker. I had a small one for years until last year. My hubby got one for $15 on black friday at Walmart. It is the best thing ever! I use mine every Sunday so the food is ready when we come home from church. One of my favorites is from Erin Chase at 5dollardinners.com, here is the link to it, http://www.5dollardinners.com/2009/11/slow-cooker-chicken-parmesan.html I hope you try it, it is sooooooooooooooooooooooo yummy!
Thanks Claire! I will!
I can’t wait to come back and see the results! Here are mine:

Thanks for hosting the link exchange! I love seeing more and more people getting great use out of their crock pots. CROCK POTS ROCK!
i have been on a slow cooker kick lately- i used it four times last week. this week i’m going to do
slow cooker roast chicken: http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/baked-slow-cooker-chicken/Detail.aspx
and slow cooker taco soup which i’ve never tried before: http://healthyhomeblog.com/2010/02/slow-cooker-chicken-taco-soup/
Let me know how you like the recipes Kathleen!
the slow cooker roast chicken i’ve done before- it’s very simple and really good. instead of paprika, i like to rub the chicken with tony chaceres and stuff the cavity with lemons if i have them and then i just stick it on top of the foil balls and let it cook. easiest way to cook a whole chicken in my opinion and one of the best things to come out of my crockpot
I LOVE my crockpot. What a great link party. Thanks for leaving it open-ended too! I will definately link up something this week or next. I can’t wait to look around at these recipes. I really need a good chicken recipe for the crockpot. Hint, hint! It has to be NO FAIL. Mine always comes out dry or overcooked ot something. Yuck..
I love forward to seeing your recipe Lilianna!
I’m cooking something new in my crock pot right now! If it comes out good, I’ll post it this week.
Thank you! It’s all too easy to stop using it, but when I dig mine out I’m always happy I did. My crockpot chicken sandwich recipe drives more traffic to my blog than any other topic, and it deserves to, it’s wonderful!

I have a tried and true crock pot recipe that I don’t know who ever came up with it or what it is called.
1 can cream of mushroom soup(I use low salt variety and prefer campbells-it tastes better to me)
1 can cream of chicken soup( same as above)
1 whole chicken deskinned and innerds removed (or used skinless/bonless chicken breasts)
2 small cans of sliced mushrooms or 1 large can (optional)
Pepper to taste
Serve over rice, mashed potatoes or egg noodles
Place both cans of soup in cold crock pot, add chicken and put cover on crockpot. Turn crockpot on high and cook for about 1 hour then turn down to low unil the chicken is almost done.
Add the canned mushrooms and also add the pepper to taste and continue cooking until chicken is done, you will know it’s done when the soup makes a nice gravy and the chicken falls off the bone. Separate the bones from the chicken before serving. I usually use a boneless skinless chicken breast when I can get them on sale because it is much easier to make this meal that way.
Meanwhile, after adding the mushrooms you should be making your rice or mashed potatoes to serve with it. I also serve a salad with this meal. It’s a family hit all the time.
You can make this in the morning and cook on low and it will take about 2 hours longer to cook. The newer crockpots cook faster than the older ones. If you have an old crockport this will take all day and be perfect when you get home from work. If you have the newer crockpot the chicken might be a bit overdone so keep this in mind when making this dish.
Enjoy.
That sounds delicious, Connie! Thank you for sharing this recipe with us!
First off I want to say terrific blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I have had a difficult time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Many thanks!
Greetings from Los angeles! I’m bored at work so I decided to browse your blog on my iphone during lunch break. I enjoy the info you present here and can’t wait to take a look
when I get home. I’m shocked at how quick your blog loaded on my mobile .. I’m
not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyhow, good blog!
