This has got to be one of the coolest cookbooks on my shelf!

I LOVE the step-by-step colored photographs!

Illustrated Step-By-Step Baking

easy-to-follow recipes with more than 1,500 photographs

By Caroline Bretherton

Check out these step-by-step photos on how to make Biscotti!

When I saw how easy this is to make and realized that I had all the ingredients, I got started on these yummy treats right away!  It’s hard to see in this photo, but I really like the colorful icons in the upper left corner that tell you how many servings the recipe makes, how long it takes to prepare and bake, and how long you can keep them in your freezer.  For the Biscotti, it makes 25-30, prep time is 15 minutes, baking time is 40 - 45 minutes, and you can freeze them up to 8 weeks.

This is how mine turned out!  Dave and I loved them!  They also have 3 other versions of Biscotti on the next page (Hazelnut and Chocolate, Chocolate and Brazil Nut, and Pistachio and Orange).  Yes, my friends, I will be trying another kind when I have time!

Check out some of the other recipes in the book!

Apple Pie

Sourdough Bread

Bagels

This cookbook also has Beef Wellington (you know, the dish that they always make on Hell’s Kitchen?!)  There is also some savory dishes which include Chicken Pot Pie, Beef and Ale Cobbler, and Feta Filo Pie to name a few.

Author Caroline Bretherton has done an amazing job with this cookbook!  Any foodie would be excited to cook from it!  Whether you’re a beginner or an accomplished baker, you’ll love this cookbook!  I do!

Check out the “Look Inside” feature to see more great photos in the book at Amazon!

The price for this book is not supposed to be $124.99. Barnesandnoble.com sells it for $22.86.

I watch Hell’s Kitchen and I’ve always wanted to try Beef Wellington, but I’m pretty intimidated by it. It seems simple, but I’d love to see the step by step instructions. Thanks for the chance!

I would like to see step-by-step photos of how to make a Mardi Gras King Cake and also beignets. Our friends go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras every year and say both of these are so delicious. I’d love to make them for my family & friends. :-)

Blueberry pie that is made with a homemade flaky crust and not a store bought version! Then I would give it to my graduate school aged daughter who has only mastered fondue dinners on her own. Would love for her to venture away from the take-out dinner mode!

I used to make sourdough bread with my mom years ago, but not in many, many years. Would love to make it again in honor of my mom.
