How Do You Cook Corn On The Cob?

I’m curious…how do you cook corn on the cob?  Do you grill it, boil it, or cut the corn off the cob and saute it in butter?  Corn on the cob is one of those foods that I don’t experiment with.  I grew up with my Mom boiling it for 5 minutes and I do the same.  I smear it with butter and sprinkle it with salt.  It’s quick, easy, and delicious.  It might sound boring but that’s summer comfort food to me!  Check out Bobby Flay’s grilled corn on the cob.

I used to just boil it, then I started grilling it, now I stick it in the oven before shucking it & bake it, so easy & the "husk" just falls right off afterwards

If the grill is already fired up, we'll toss it on in the husk. If not, we usually just nuke it. It's not as good as boiled but it's faster and usually it's an, "oh crap, forgot the corn!" situation.

Sometimes we grill it, and sometimes we boil it. I like it both ways, but my preference is always boiled vs. any other way. Especially if we have a crowd to make it for.

I like to grill it if we eat it on the cob. Though with kids with braces, I more often cut it off the cob and saute it. I like the extra sweetness that the heat of both grilling and sauteing give the corn.

Most of the time I like it grilled but sometimes I do boil it. I normally grill it with the husk on.

We usually microwave it without the husk - neither of us grew up eating corn on the cob, so we didn't really know how to cook it. I think one of our friends did it that way, so we just copied!

Funny you should ask…we just did this a few days ago! :)

We wrapped it in aluminum foil (husks and all) and baked it for about 25 minutes, then took it out, pulled away the husks, and buttered it…then baked about 5 more minutes! :)

I like to use the steamer bags and microwave for corn. I used to boil but heard the nutrients can get lost with boiling so we tried it this way - done in 10 minutes or less and nice texture. Love the steamer bags!

We fix our corn on the cob in a rather unique way. We cook it in the microwave, INSIDE the husks/silk. I place a wet paper towel in the bottom of the MW…lay the corn on top - no more than 4 at a time - cook for 4 minutes on each side. Allow to cool a few minutes - use a paper towel to hold onto ears and another to peel the corn and wipe the silk off. It keeps the moisture inside and is wonderful. Hubby did a whole bushel of corn for the freezer while I worked one day because he prefers it this delicious way!!

I love corn grilled, but if it's really fresh, we cut it off the cob and make a fresh salad with red onion and tomatoes. Delish!

This is my favorite way to cook corn on the cob! My husband's friend dropped our grill off the moving truck, so this summer I haven't gotten the chance to enjoy this delicacy.

    Thanks for sharing!

I just recently started cutting it off the cob (raw) and sauteeing it in a little olive oil and dried rosemary. SO GOOD! I'm sure the sky's the limit on how to doctor it up too.

My husband does 98 percent of anything grilled and we grill our corn. It’s the only way to cook it in my opinion ;)
