Disclosure: I received free tickets to the Futures at Fenway Game in Boston. The comments in this post are 100% my own.
On Saturday, Dave and I took our nieces to Boston for our very first Futures at Fenway game! The Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox AA affiliate) played against the Harrisburg Senators (Nationals AA affiliate).
It was a great family day, filled with entertainment and activities for the little ones.
Got to give these guys credit for playing on a hot day!
This was the first year that they invited dogs to this event. Pet owners had to buy tickets for their pet and had to follow the dog day event rules. They were seated in one big section in the 3rd base area. Pet owners got to walk their dogs all around the field before the game! (More about the dogs below.)
The gates opened at 11:00 a.m., so we got in early to find our seats and had an early lunch. The girls got chicken nuggets and fries. Dave got his traditional sausage sub, and I had the Fenway Frank. Later, we all got soft serve ice cream in cute Red Sox helmet bowls!
I love this photo of Fenway Park! I think my older niece used the panoramic setting on my iphone to get this angle.
This is the view from our seats!
Back to the dogs!
During the game, we wanted to check out the dog section because [A] we own dogs ourselves and didn’t bring them, [B] we wanted to ask pet owners if it was a lot of work to bring them, so we could possibly bring them next year, and [C] we just wanted to pet some of these big and little cuties!
This big guy got our attention quick! You don’t see a St. Bernard every day!
He sat like a statue when he was in the pool! So cute!
All the pet parents said it was easy to take their dogs. Isn’t she adorable?
Another dog you don’t see very often
This Newfie enjoyed lots of attention!
Yep, she loved him!
We got to hold a few little ones!
I brought the girls up to “The Green Monster” section in left field. This was their first time at Fenway Park, so I wanted them to see the great view from up there.
After the Portland Sea Dogs won the game (Wahoo!) the girls got some cotton candy and we found a great spot to see Kidz Bop perform on the field in front of the Red Sox dugout. My younger niece was so excited to see them!
The 5 members of Kidz Bop were great! Boy, can they dance!
From beginning to end, I think their first day at Fenway Park was pretty fun!
Special thanks to the Boston Red Sox for inviting us to our first Futures at Fenway game!
We had a great day!

Great photos Jane. So glad the girls had a fun day. Looks like my boys missed out. Ryan would have enjoyed Kidz Bop for sure!
