THIS GIVEAWAY IS OVER!

I’ve been trying to eat better and lose a few pounds lately, so Ellie Krieger’s cookbook Comfort Food Fix is really going to come in handy for me.  In her newest book, she shows how you can indulge in comfort food favorites like buffalo wings, mac and cheese, fried chicken, philly cheese steak sandwiches and more-but without the calories and saturated fat.

In this video, Ellie talks about a few recipes from her book and shares her tips on how to cut calories.

I actually met Ellie Krieger a couple of years ago at her book signing for her cookbook So Easy. She is so down-to-earth and gracious. I loved meeting her!

Doesn’t this look amazing?

This is a photo from Ellie’s book.

It’s Braised Brisket With Carolina-Style Barbeque Sauce.

I had a chance to try this recipe last week!  It was delicious!  We should have cut the meat against the grain like the photo above.

I’ve been counting calories using a fun little Ap on my iphone, so I really appreciate that Ellie has included the nutritional facts to go along with every recipe.  She has made-over every American comfort food I can think of!

To see more photos and complete list of recipes from Comfort Food Fix, click on the Amazon link and use the “Look Inside” feature.

Did you know that Ellie is a weekly contributor for USA Today?  Check out her column, Eating with Ellie, each Wednesday.

I am always looking for new ideas for feeding my family - I have six kids, two in college and four still at home. I like cooking, but sometimes I get overwhelmed with the sheer relentless nature of keeping people fed 21 meals a week plus snacks - oy! I tend to fall back on old standbys that arent’ the healthiest choices just to solve the “what’s for dinner” dilemma. Help!
