Cans Get You Cooking Giveaway and Green Bean Casserole

Disclosure: I received a Hannaford gift card which will allow me to purchase the canned items and other ingredients I need for a series of 8 posts about the Cans Get You Cooking program. I am disclosing this per FTC guidelines.

Canbassador BadgeFor my August Cans Get You Cooking post, I’m sharing an old standby, Campbell’s Classic Green Bean Casserole.  Only thing is…I threw in a couple cans of Hormel chicken breast.  The chicken made it a little more heartier!

This recipe is so easy!

IMG_2926

First, you drain the cans of beans and spread them out in a casserole dish.

IMG_2930

I topped mine with two cans of chicken breast.

IMG_2940

Combine the milk, soy sauce, and a little black pepper, and stir it into the bean mixture.

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes, then sprinkle the onions on top.  Bake for 5 minutes longer until the onions are golden brown.

This is a great side dish for pot luck dinners, barbecues, or any day of the week!

Do you do a lot of cooking with canned food?

The can is one of the best ways to get food from the farm to my family’s table. The canning process locks in foods’ freshness, flavor, and nutrients at the peak of ripeness, just hours after picking.  It’s field to sealed!  That means I can serve canned foods anytime, and with confidence!
