Today’s guest post is from Sue at Munchkin Munchies!  How cool is this Halloween dessert?!  I spotted this on Pinterest and asked Sue to share it with all of you!

There are so many cute candy corn treats all over blogland, that I just had to jump on the bandwagon, or should I say, hayride.  :)

I have been having so much fun on Pinterest, pinning like crazy!  I can’t believe how many creative people there are!

When I first thought about making a candy corn cheesecake, using a special insert/pan set *(which I have), I thought I had come up with an original idea…then it dawned on me that maybe I had “pinned” such a cheesecake to my Halloween Pinterest board.  Sure enough, when I looked, there it was.  Sometimes I pin things at such a fast and furious rate, that I forget what’s there!?!  I’m not as creative as I thought I was~ha ha!  Surely a “senior moment”!

*If you don’t have the insert/pan and don’t want to buy it, I’m sure it would look candy corn-ish just to swirl these colors around, or layer the colors. :)

This is what the pre-baked cheescake looked like, after the insert was lifted out.

FYI:  I was going to take a shot of the whole cheesecake, but for some reason my lens would not adjust/focus at that distance. I had the same problem in May.  When I took it to the camera store, the tech was perplexed, but it was determined that it was my lens, not the camera.  I bought a new lens, but the duplicate problem is happening again.  :(  Back to the camera store…

This cheesecake design was found on the Wilton site, which included a no-bake recipe, but  I wanted to use a baked 9-inch (the size of the pan) cheesecake recipe and found this recipe, which had over 3,000 reviews with an average 4.5/5-star rating.

I was a little anxious to cut the cheesecake into wedges and didn’t let it cool completely before I released the sides of the springform pan. Consequently the sides did not release cleanly, and it didn’t look very pretty.  :(   I manged to salvage some for the photos though.  :)

My husband and I  decided that the cheesecake deserved the 4 1/2 stars!  We loved it!  It was dense and creamy! I love the LOOK too!

Thanks for sharing your recipe with us, Sue!

I’ve seen this amazing dessert around blogland. HOW ADORABLE! I am not familiar with that kind of pan, and can’t imagine how it works, but this couldn’t be any cuter! Thanks to both of you for sharing. I love pinning too! Saves me lots of paper!! And I love using my laptop on the kitchen counter for my recipe.

    4) I just found a 40% off coupon for Hobby Lobby!! Guess who’s about to own the pan?! 😀
    5) If you get a new camera, can your favorite fan have your hand-me-down so that I don’t have to use my crappy POS camera anymore? Pretty please? I’ll bake you up a batch of something Yummilicious in return!!

Thanks for the great post, Jane!

Ha, you are hilarious. I just love reading you. I officially need to get one of those pans- I feel like it’s just the best way to achieve a cheesecake this pretty. Especially if I wanted to make one for a Target party. I don’t know if that’ll ever happen but, if I did, I would love to make a peppermint flavored red and white cheesecake.

I used to work there… Sorry for the random veer. I love this is the general summary.

Sorry I haven’t commented in so long! I have kind of fallen off the blogosphere this summer but, I still have been following and still love your recipes and will be a more devoted follower starting now!

Thanks for always posting such awesome pieces :)
